This is a pretty personal post to write and really made me reflect on my past few climbing seasons and analyze what has changed, what has worked and what hasn’t.
Happy Friday if you are reading this on the day it is published! I am currently sitting in Leavenworth waiting to get some climbing in! I drove over last night and somehow forgot my climbing shoes… ha! Luckily enough, I have been manifesting the shit out of money lately and was able to buy a new pair of shoes this morning without worrying about it.
This post is aimed primarily at athletes and those wishing to improve their body composition. I have worked with many athletes and am one myself. I know how hard the pressure can be to “look a certain way” and to perform our best at all times. Sometimes that pressure can lead us into unhealthy behaviors in order to achieve a certain goal.
I got inspired to write this post due to the overwhelming nature of day-to-day life. Or the seemingly overwhelming nature of busy days. I have been busier than usual lately and have found myself not prioritizing my own health as much as I should have. I have big goals in mind but I still want to make sure that I take care of my mind and body the best I can so I can FEEL GOOD and perform my best – both mentally and physically.
Today on the blog I want to talk about a topic near and dear to my heart – SUGAR! It has been a long journey in figuring out what my relationship with sugar should look like and I finally feel like I am in a very balanced and sane spot with it. For those of you who don’t know, I have always had a bit of a sweet tooth. I just LOVE sweet foods. Not that I don’t also appreciate savory, but sweet just tastes so much sweeter.
I wanted to write this post to explain what exactly a health coach does. We all know we should be eating “healthy” and exercising “enough” but what does that actually mean? Here’s where the health coach comes in – a health coach is a supportive mentor that helps to guide you through these different questions and help you to answer these questions for yourself!
Happy Friday! I write this post as a spin-off of “Favorite Follow Friday” where for a while I was sharing who I loved to follow over on Instagram! Btw, hop on over and check me out at @fromthemountains.wellness to see tons more food pics and nutrition information!
